Green Public Procurement Workshop in Beijing

On 13th March 2007, the China Green Purchasing Network (CGPN) and the International Green Purchasing Network (IGPN) held the Green Public Procurement workshop in Beijing, China.  The aims of the workshop were: to raise the awareness of the environmental issues and the roles that Green Purchasing / Green Public Procurement could play to address the issues; to present the latest state of play in Green Purchasing / Green Public Procurement activities and future plans in both Japan, China and South Korea; and to demonstrate the Green Purchasing & Green Public Procurement Starter Kit to the Chinese audience.  The workshop was attended by purchasing managers of business organisations as well as policy makers and researchers of the Chinese government.  The Korea Eco-Products Institute (KOECO) joined the workshop and presented the latest state of play in Green Public Procurement activities and future plans in South Korea.

The workshop was sponsored by the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) and the Japan Fund for Global Environment.
